Kabuleta Launches NEED Party Structure, Eyes 2026 Elections
In a significant political development, Joseph Kiiza Kabuleta and his growing movement, the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), have officially launched their party structure across the country, setting the stage for the 2026 elections.
Party Structure Unveiled & National Launch
- The formal launch was held in Kabalagala, Kampala, where Kabuleta personally announced the establishment of regional party chapters following EC certification of NEED as a political party.
- He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to dismantling the Museveni regime and returning governance power to ordinary Ugandans.
“We acquired an existing party, but the Electoral Commission delayed and danced around the process until we were finally officiated… the last shall be first,” Kabuleta stated.
Nationwide Vision & 2026 Roadmap
- NEED now boasts representation in 17 regions, positioning itself as a genuinely national political movement, unlike parties perceived to serve regional interests.
- Kabuleta vowed to run as the party’s presidential flag bearer and ruled out joining alliances built on convenience rather than shared principles.
Economic-First Political Agenda
NEED's platform stresses:
- Economic liberation—symbolized by its maize cob logo and “Money in Your Pocket” slogan.
- Reviving Uganda’s local garment and agricultural industries, and restructuring public employment systems.
- Empowering communities to achieve self-reliance, free from foreign or external influence
Party membership is tiered—with Ordinary, Sustaining, and Life tiers—and party officials warned the public against fake membership card sellers.
